Shopify beats estimates for holiday-quarter income

[OTTAWA] Canada’s Shopify on Wednesday beat income estimates for the vacation quarter as a growth in on-line purchasing drives sturdy demand for its instruments and companies that cater to e-commerce.

Income was US$1.38 billion for the fourth quarter ended Dec 31, in contrast with US$977.7 million a 12 months earlier. Analysts have been anticipating US$1.33 billion, in keeping with Refinitiv knowledge.
